Sir: It was mentioned before about carbon metallic front pads. Both calipers use the same brake pads. Auto Zone is discontinuing their "performance Friction" carbon metallic pads and are selling their stock for $21. Stock # 0052-20. They are $80 at O`Reillys. I could tell a noticeable difference when I put these on. When I added the rear carbon metallic shoes I had real brakes. This is where I got the rear shoes.

Isn't there a casting knob or something that has to be ground off to clear the wheel?

Just a reminder that there is a lug on the 80MM calipers that must be ground
away before installation to insure clearance between the caliper and the
back side of the wheel. Grind carefully, wear safety glasses, and git rid of
all the grinding residue before you install the calipers. That stuff will
raise holy ned with rotors & pads.

Dang I missed the part about auto zone having the pads paid $60 for them at o reilly. I will get an extra set though from autozone as much as I hate shopping there I cant pass up the price. The lug was not a big deal i wrapped the caliper with a rag and a little duct tape to keep it out of the wheel and used the bench grinder 5 min and it was done

Jim,

If Mark is running steel wheels will he need to check and see if the 80mm
caliper bodies will clear the wheels after he grinds the lug off?

Rob, if we are talking about 16" steel wheels, the answer is yes. If 16.5,
the answer is maybe. If the rotors are worn, he might sneak by without
spacers and hub extenders.

I just put slotted & drilled rotors on the front of my Lesabre. First time I can activate the ABS on dry pavement. Ceramic pads. Stops better than new.

HMMM The plot thickens..... Yes I am running steel wheels. Have 16.5 on there now but recently bought a set of 16's As soon as I get them sand blasted and powder coated they will be going on the twinkie. Now I guess I need to check to see if they fit or if I need to try another approach. The calipers seem to clear the 16.5 with no issues.

Jim Bounds does not like to deviate from the standard on the brake
system due to liability issues.
He referees those people to us.
In turn we refer interior modification to them.
Sometimes it is the combination of the larger p35 Master and the 80mm
caliper that help get a better bite.
Our EBC Yellow sticky pads has proven to lot of people that it is
worth the extra.
