OK, I've lived with no tank level sensors long enough. Well, three outings, anyway.
I like the analog gauges the coach came with, but the "fuel tank senders" are not what I believe are the right solution. Metal rusting in my fresh water tank, and poo fouling up the one in the black tank. I long ago removed their carcasses. The industrial solutions from Ryan Herco are too expensive and unknown.
Anyone have these?

I don't have that brand but I have a similar system for fresh as well as black water. It also measures propane and battery voltage by traditional methods. It works flawlessly and in my mind is the only way to go.

Yeah, capacitive. My worry is they may be just as flakey on the poop tank due to the "things" that stick to the walls, plus it is probably rotomolded so the wall thickness varies. Now my fresh tank, well that is mad out of 3/4 sheet polypro. should work like a champ on that one... unless there are condensation drops. I have capacitive sensors on equipment, and they can be flakey too.
Bob, you posted a blank post...

I think Ferguson had those monitors or something similar, on his coach. Maybe he will chime in here. As I recall, he liked them.

Why don't you guys solve the electrical problems and install a float type
gage similar to what a piper cub or a model A ford had on cowl mounted gas
tanks. The float operates in a tube so that it moves up and down. The top of
the float has an inverse dipstick that you can calibrate any way you like.
The higher it floats, the more crap you have.<Grin>

Another blank--darn it. Chris, I have a capacitive system in my coach and it has worked flawlessly for close to 20 years since I have owned the coach. Absolutely works all the time with no false readings.

I've got a stainless steel fresh water tank. I'd be surprised if any of these work on it apart from drilling holes and using well-nuts. Has anyone had success with a metal tank?

Bob -- your message wasn't blank, you just put the quotes in the wrong spot. You typed inside the quoted area so it looks like your two line comment:

was part of the prior message. When using the "quote" option on the message board, type your own response AFTER the bracketed /quote designation in the message space. Otherwise you appear to be part of the quoted text. I've done it a few times when editing a prior message. Usually I delete that last bracketed /quote and then the message formatting includes it automatically, putting my response as part of the original message quoted and making it look like you sent a blank. If you accidentally delete the bracketed /quote just type it back before you start your response. Make sure to include the brackets [] around it. I can't do it in the message space or else it will assume I'm quoting things I'm really trying to explain!
Now that it's clear as mud, let me know if you have questions.
Thanks,

I got a reply from the mfg, and they say the max thickness is 3/8" on the tank. That means I need to router a groove in my water tank, as it is 1/2" (or 3/4" cannot remember) thick...
If I opt to use a "sub tank" it needs to be at least 4" wide.
