No we are tied at $370. The price I got is $370 to go to SE Michigan from
Phoenix. I am not in the boonies (except if you consider the Detroit area a
wilderness) either. According to Microsoft MapPoint I am 539 miles closer to
Phoenix than you are?

Well, I bit the bullet (with a little nudge from my better half and
financier). She said we should get the two buckets and that middle seat/console
because we are replacing the pass. side bench seat. I think I can make this work.
Once I saw Chris' seats I was convinced that tan was the way to go. The
middle/console is only available in tan, so that was the final factor. The grand
total came to $583 with shipping, elsewhere I would have spent that on one
seat.

Hi,
Received my pair of tan seats last night. A little over two weeks from
order but they look great. Have saved all the ideas and pics that others
have posted, so now to install. By the way, what have others done with their old
ones ? Save them ?

I've tried to give mine away, but they have about another week to go or they go to the dump! If I was 16, I could make them into a rocker chair for the dorm room or something like that Smile

I gave mine to a man who works for us who used them in his game room. He,
and a friend, sit in them to do the video games. He's happy and I'm happy
that I didn't have to store or trash 'em. There seems to be NO market value
for them.

Andy,

Save 'em & bring 'em to GMCMI Dothan. We got lots of folks down this
way that will pay you big bucks for them For front porch chairs. Like,
maybe $5.00 if you can get an auction going!

That's where I got mine from about 2 years ago. They were good to deal with and had fast service.

I called them yesterday. They only have the 2011 seats which have 1 armrest, not 2. He quoted me for 2 seats (tan leather) and shipping to AL $325. I bought some new 2010 seats with 2 armrests (tan leather) off ebay yesterday with shipping for $288. The rollx people are nice and they have an available supply, but if you want the double armrests you can probably still find them, and find them cheaper, if you are patient.

They later went to side airbags and eliminated the cupholders--bet a lot of GMC's don't realize they have in-active side airbags!

Wouldn't there be some kind of wiring going to the airbag? I haven't seen any wiring on any of the various pictures... the seats are designed to be removed.

Just bought a set off eBay. I'll look when I get them. There should be an airbag symbol anywhere there is an airbag. I'll post pictures if I find anything... if someone else doesn't beat me to it.

After years of desire, a few weeks of frustration, and more than a couple of "bumps" in the road, I can now count myself among the insanely wonderful people that own a GMC motorthome.
Believe it or not, it is the one I thought I already owned (long story). So now the project begins. It's raining/snowing here so I'm inside brain storming. First thing I am looking for is the couch. It had one at some time because the hardware in the ceiling is still there. So if anyone has one they would sell me please email me. I don't care about the condition, I'm mainly after the frame work.
Now if would only warm up a little and stop raining...

I wouldn't worry about that. You can tell which ones have it by the little "button" that signifies an airbag--much like the ones on seats or A-pillars. I believe the ones I got for Ray E have airbags.

Congratulations Marsha,

Now you need to get hooked up with the Flatlanders. Jean Lawhorn is
the contact person. PM me, or email, and I'll get that contact info
for you. There are several members in the KC area. We have monthly
gatherings, in season. Nice group.

We've been on the road since Dec 3, but will be home briefly in April
before heading to the Patterson, LA rally (April 5 or so). We're a
short hop from Branson and Tablerock Lake, and have a great spot for
your new 23 footer. Also, if you're interested in caravaning to the
rally ....

We have a '73 parts coach, but sorry, no sofa.

Martha,

Congratulations, and Welcome.

A little friendly advice, based on experience: Now that you've got it, slow
down.

Don't jump to conclusions about what you want. Sit and look and plan and
sketch and compare and view other coaches for a long time before making any
decisions. You'll avoid a lot of false starts, wasted efforts and money,
and wind up with a better coach most suiting your needs.

Take that couch for example: Are you REALLY sure you want one? IMHO, the
thing was an ill-conceived design, poorly executed, extremely uncomfortable,
and with serious safety issues. While I never had a need for the bunk
feature, I feel certain I could have easily come up with a better design if
I had (at least for what would have been my requirements). I KNOW I came up
with a simpler, more comfortable solution at very reasonable cost.

Unless you have very deep pockets, enormous energy and exceptional skills,
you can't rush through a GMC refurbishment (and maybe not even with all of
those), so slow down, enjoy the effort, and do it right.

JMHO,

Ken Henderson
