Many of my friends on the net have been giving our family moral
support and prayers with the illness of my son's wife over the last
year with her non-smokers lung cancer.
They took her off life support this afternoon and she and my son got
to say goodbye. She died minutes later.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.
Emery

This absolutely hurts. You and your family are in our prayers not only for
the loss after giving it the best a human can give, but for the weeks,
months and years ahead. This leaves a wound that will heal but the scar that
is left will always be there as a reminder of pleasant times and the times
of struggle.
The situation you're in with your knee just compounds things. I'm sure many
of us wish trading places were possible.

Emery,
You don't know us but our thoughts are with you. It is a testament to you that your son is able to even survive this. I have no idea how that's done but I count my blessings every day.
I am 40 and already can't believe how many of my friends are already gone. My 86 year old grandfather seems to take that in stride now. I just pray that I have his DNA instead of my mother's who left us at 54.
Our decision to get our motorhome was totally based on our new philosophy after one friend was knocked off his bike by a car door and under the bus he just got off of, a co-worker succumb to sudden brain cancer leaving two young children, and the 17 year old of another co-worker drop dead in the shower with an unknown heart defect only two weeks from graduation.
That philosophy is: "No one is going to tell us how many days we have here. The only way to be sure you've lived is to do it every day."
Get well soon, you've got stuff to do!
