Lately there has been quite a bit of discussion on where to find the proper steering box, belts, wheels, etc. It's a no brainer; Call Applied GMC! They have the right parts and the know how to help us keep our GMCs on the road. They ship promptly and, in most cases, you will have the parts before you are ready to tackle the job. If you are stranded somewhere, they will over-night stuff to you. We owe it to our specialty suppliers to give them as much of our business as possible. Besides, this is their slow season and these guys need the business! I really want them to be there for years to come so I can continue to make improvements to my coach, and my wife and I can continue to have fun in it...safely.

When it comes to 16" wheels, we don't have too many options and Jim has those covered too with the reasonably priced Eagle rims he has made available to us. Again, Jim has the most competitive prices that I've seen for the complete package (wheel, lug nuts, and caps)

I don't work for either of the jim's, or even get a discount, but I do support them with my business so they CAN continue to support me with replacement parts and innovative new products that help me to keep my coach on the road. In fact, I am just taking a break from repairing my dash HVAC control, among other things, with parts that were delivered to my front door earlier this week, from Applied GMC.

Carl,
I appreciate your feedback very much.
We have lot of people that think along the same lines as you, but
those that need to strech their budget, they tend to have more time to
look around and shop.
Lot of you need to sign up for the GMC International so you can
receive the parts reference.
It is not 100%, but comes close to it. I know we send in information
for that purpose.
The best $30 you can spend.
We have seen several parts being discontinued, when that happens, we
try to get the other GMC places to combine or efforts and order in a
group.

Jim,

I'm on a budget too. If I weren't, I would probably be able to support you single handedly for a couple of months. I also run a small business and know that the lowest price is seldom the best value. I do as much business as I can with you and Jim B. as I can because I value the service and I know that advice is just a phone call away.

I have lived in the same town for fifty years and have lots of connections when it comes to parts and mechanical services, yet it is still less of a hassle for me to buy parts from the GMC specialists. I KNOW I will be getting the right part and there will be no guessing about what will fit right or whether or not it will do the job.

That is not to mention the work you have done to bring us well thought out and designed items like the Quad Bag system and the brake reaction arm to improve and update our coaches. It is certainly in all of our best interests to keep it practical for you guys to stay in business.

I found out about the parts list when I bought my coach, it came with it. To keep it updated I became a member of GMCMI. Like mentioned above, that alone is worth the yearly dues. I still ask stupid parts questions as I can't always find my reading glasses to look it up. I know Rob M. will give me the part number within an hour as he has that list memorized.
I know Carl personally and know for a fact that he will not buy parts anywhere but from the Jims, if they have them. And, they normally do. There are many others out there, just like Carl, who know how tough it is to keep a small buisness running. they probably are the Jims' best customers. Life is good when you can help support friends.
