Thought it might be helpful to provide a list of references for some of the rear suspension discussions here recently:

The following are found on my History CD, "The GMC motorhome, From start to Finish...."

The following are image numbers:
#37 First sketch of hydraulic/air spring

#38 hydraulic/air spring on pie wagon

#39 First sketch of air spring

#62 & 63 First actual air spring design

#339 Central Foundry castings

#381 demo with timbers.

GMC MotorHome Mini Theatre Films, DVD1
The first film, Title, "A New Standard" 3:30 to 4:10 into film of the GMC MH and a competitor going over the "timbers".

Comment: The vehicle speed and spacing of the timbers was surely chosen to demonstrate a most dramatic effect. If you want to consider it a slow motion look at what happens crossing bumps/timbers, I think it is as good as it gets.

Enjoy

Hi Bill,
Thanks very much!

I'd be pleased to purchase your whole set - would you mind to quote me a
Canadian dollar price or would you take a US dollar post money order or ???
Sorry, PayPal is no longer in my good books - wouldn't use them even if they
were the last choice on earth - they're bad, bad people.

Thanks again Bill,

Gord
