Well, Lisa was out in the driveway with the dog yesterday and slip, down she goes. Broke both bones in her right forearm. The ER put a splint on it last night and we see the ortho doc tomorrow. Hope the swelling will have gone down enough so that they can cast it. She still thinks she will make the Eastern States Rally next month but we have to see how her underlying medical condition reactions to the added stress and pain. So now I get to stay home and play nurse and take my turn out there on the ice with the dog.

Ouch! Be careful out there. Ice IS slippery, and usually when you go
down, it's with much more force than the usual fall. Good luck to you
both...

Sorry to hear about Lisa.

The subject makes me think of the sign.

- Cast Iron Sinks -
Another thing I didn't a sign to figure out.

I do hope she is in shape to make the rally.

I've avoided learning to ice skate for that very reason. 250lbs moving downward at high speed is alot of kinetic energy for a bone to try and absorb.

Lisa will see the ortho doc tomorrow morning and we have been told that it may require surgery to align the bones. We shall know more tomorrow. Today was an interesting day. Lisa developed an allergy to the pain meds and the over the counter stuff is not doing much. Monday she is scheduled for a procedure at Albany Med to check the placement of the central line cath. The port has shifted and they need to be sure the line ends up at the right place in the heart. Of course, if they need to surgically align the bones in her arm then Monday could get real interesting.
