Ok- still trying to wrap my brain around the GMC's electrical systems. I'm having trouble keeping the batteries charged. I have to jump start it if it sits for more than a day. I just recently purchased it so I don't know if the batteries themselves are shot, but planning on replacing them soon. However I want to know that the rest of the system is ok before ruining the new batteries.
The PO put a alligator clip jumper cable from the isolator to the battery boost. It won't start without it in place. So does this mean its using the house battery to start? Once running, the volt meter says 13.8-14.1 so I think the alternator is fine. Do I need to just replace batteries? Isolator? boost thingy?
