The bus you thought was interesting is an early 1940's Flxible coach. Yes,
that's the way it was spelled. They have an active owners club.
http://www.flxibleowners.org/

Flxible got it's start by making sidecars for motorcycles. Ford drove them
out of business when a Ford roadster cost less than a motorcycle with
sidecar. They then made ambulances for a while. The wound up doing busses.
The went out of business in 1970 but some units are still on the road.

An interesting thing about the Flxible Clipper (like the one in your photo)
was that they had no speedometer, just a tach. The transmission was five
speed forward. The engine was in the rear with a luggage area above the
engine.

More bits and facts from Byron's Almanac.

Byron

No, I did not. Did not even get over to meet him and go inside the thing. The others did but I just was not interested. Let him get his paint elsewhere. If I had paint in the car I would have given it to him I guess.
The Flx group normally are here but I was told by a member in the bus group that there was some kind of problem between the two groups this year and they went elsewhere. I was hoping Jay Leno's mechanic would be here this year with his. I saw it on a tv clip a couple of weeks back while they were filming Jay Leno and some of the garage, along with the owner of the Flx.
Gary, I don't know why the tracker did not move, -1. I checked it when we got home and I guess it was on strike all day long. Worked ok when we got home.
Was certainly worth the drive over to see the place. It had been on our list for a long time. I can not understand how folks can live over there for extended periods of time but I guess they can do what they want.
Tatoos on old ladies look really bad too.
