Rob,
I was doing more thinking on my 80mm calipers. After I cleaned off the tit and the burr that was rubbing the rim I did take a little more off for added clearance. My thinking is that if I have clearance with new pads as the pads wear the clearance will increase. I ran this way for at least three years brfore I installed the spacers.
