THE SITUATION:

1) Some P.O. of "The Money Pit" did some strange stuff
with the tubing in the engine compartment. The line
from the "output" of the canister at lower right side
of engine compartment is apparently run to the "extra"
port on the incorrect 3-port fuel pump. This line is
clamped off with a Ty-Wrap placed on a doubled part
of the line, effectively blocking both directions!

Where is the output line from the canister supposed
to go? I suspect it may be supposed to go to a port
at the rear of the carburetor which currently is
vacant.

2) The Thermostatic Vacuum Switch (TVS) on the intake
manifold that is to the left and rear of the thermostat
has the bottom two ports broken off and the top port
vacant. I have the Service Manual and can see the line
routing on Page 6T-7. I haven't matched up where all
of the lines go. I see that the top port "D" is to feed
back to the distributor vacuum advance at the rear of
the distributor. I imagine that locating the destination
for the line from port "C" will be pretty obvious as long
as some P.O. hasn't fooled around and removed its intended
destination. I am most perplexed as to where the line
from port "MT" from one side of the "TEE" goes.

3) I assume that the TVS is needed as part of the smog
package. Is the TVS still available? If it is not,
what is required to ensure proper carburetor operation?

4) I have a new canister to install when temperatures
improve a bit for more comfortable crawling around on
the driveway on my back!

Suggestions gratefully accepted!
