You don not need to get at the switch to check it.
Disconnecting pin 12 will take the switch out of the circuit.
(I assume you have checked the oil level...)
To check the switch, measure from the wire side of pin 12 to ground. The switch provides a ground at pin 12 when there isn't any oil pressure. When the engine is running, with oil pressure, the ground is removed by the switch.
If the ground is always present, the switch MIGHT be bad.
The link provided above will check the board.

Hang in there guys.....full story.
Parked in the Everglades, for 5 days ran several hours at a time no issues.
The last two days it will run ~ 15 to 20 mins. before shutting down and on restart attempt it shuts down repeatedly in 3-4 secs and seems very hot.
We disconnected the wire to the oil pressure switch but it is still doing the same thing.
Does that narrow things down?

Use this as a guide for troubleshooting; it will almost certainly locate the
problem:

I would suspect ignition problems rather than the control board. (Does it have the F*$^#&-up original points?)
Jumping out the control board like many have suggested, should rule out the board.
George reposted an earlier email of mine about jumping pins 6 (lower) and 9 to disable most of the boards features but maintains the start/stop features. (Note this isn't really safe for a "long term" fix.)
If it is the ignition, like I suspect, I would NOT buy new point$. Go with a Pertronix upgrade.
