Good afternoon,
I read the thread on shipping windshields with interest. Unfortunately, there was no information on who actually installs GMC windshields and does it well. The last windshield I had replaced (BMW 3 series) was installed poorly. The technician obviously scratched through the paint which caused a rust problem in the lower corner of the windshield.
I would like to avoid that issue in the future.

I'd get in touch with Jim Bounds at the GMC Coop in Orlando, FL. He seems to have had good luck with a windshield company, and was recommending them to do the job correctly.
Luckily the aluminum and fiberglass construction of our coaches cut down on the rust issue (except for the frame), but having the windshield installed correctly so it does not crack or have leaks around the gasket, is worth any extra that they may charge.

I have a friend in the Glass Business. He does GMCs on Saturday mornings. The rest of the week he is on call to several clients that own and use school buses and semi tractors. His main business provides 2 hour on site response to those clients.
He has done probably 25 GMCs over the past 6 or 7 years. Unfortunately you will have to come to NW Indiana (Chicago area).

My choices would be the two Jims or Ken's guy. We were on our way to get new windshields when the refer died. Guess where my money went? Still got two fogged windshields but we got cold grub out here in the desert.
