OK, we are going ahead with this.

The dates will be Feb 5th and 6th (Sat. and Sun.)
here in Chico CA. (rain or shine)
We are 90 miles north of Sacramento.

Here is the concept, get together, work on coaches or
just get to know each other a bit better.

At my warehouse I have

jack stands
ramps
floors jacks
air compressors
air tools (limited)
hand tools
Wi-Fi
room for 4 coaches

On the street in front legal parking for maybe 4/5 coaches.

I have no agenda and nothing to sell.

Gene Fisher says he will be there and Desmond will
alert all the folks that made it to the Treasure Island
rally.

I am open to ideas from any of you who have been
to a work rally as I have not.

Thoughts?

Hey Richard;

We will try to make it. After Quartzsite we are going to NM for a
couple of days, then will be heading back to WA via I-5, so it will
just be a matter of timing. Will give it a heck of a try...

Thank you for getting this rolling and offering your space...

I will be attending with many tools some wine and 1 project: Front wheel bearings. I will be ready to wrench all weekend!

Do you know if anyone attending will have the knowledge/tool to do the bearings?

Jim, you KNOW you're awesome right? Thanks!!!

I'll try to swing by that week just before the Work Rally so you won't be without the tool long. I'll also buy the bearings then. I'll call you a few days ahead also.

Ok I'll bring my blocks and my 6 Ton stands also. The compressor is 120v and maybe 4 cu ft.

risky business here

1- will have to do the knuckle-on bearing change - so you don't break
something.

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showgallery.php?cat=3224

2 - if the knuckle is worn, you will have no way home while you wait for a
new part

3- If you find bad parts (boots, knuckles, ball joints, cv joints , etc)
you will not get the job done, and you might be stuck with GMC up on blocks.

3- bearings should have the zerk installed on the bearing change - this
would make this the last time this is done

http://gmcmotorhome.info/front.html#ZERK

but, bearing change, is not an "in the field " mod.

JMHO
I would not risk it (been there - done that ;>)

but I would love to WATCH
gene

Looks like we'll have to set up a big screen TV for the work rally.

Superbowl Sunday is the 5th and the Green Bay Packers quarterback
is a Chico guy, Aaron Rodgers!

Do not worry about the big screen. Green Bay is going to drop out of the race next week.
