Bad weather coming to ATL. If we lose power here, the list will be
offline until power is restored. The UPS is only good for about 5
minutes. Hopefully this storm will not live up to the weatherman's hype.
Of course I just drove through downtown and was REAL glad that Sharon's
car is AWD. There's already a couple inches of sleet and snow on the
roads.

We use to have that problem here but after enough outage complaints our the ISP installed natural gas generators at selected locations and keep the cable powered even during outages. One of them on on the corner of my property. I have a UPS on the modem and router and my laptops will run 3 to 5 hours on their batteries.

Hopefully your GMCnet email server UPS triggers a gentle shut down to the server so it can boot back up without any unforeseen problems.

I was in Atlanta many years ago with my airplane parked at the Peachtree DeKalb airport when a tornado came through. The tornado flipped the airplanes tied down on both sides of me while mine came through with only a bent tail tie down ring. I flew out a couple of days later with no repairs needed. The King Air and Piper next to me sustained major damage.

Good luck with the weather.
