I don't even know to whom I should address this.

When a E-mail reader responds to a posting, it seems that the posters @ddress of record gets included in the quoted message header. When this response shows up in the forum, the @ddress is then clearly visible to public access. Spambots can and will grab it.

This can be a problem. I am about to bury my primary @ddress as it is now useless due to 60~80 filter-proof messages a day (over 300 in the trap). Changing out this account will be a major headache and will require several month's attention.

This is not an issue at all with the forum traffic. There the quoted text shows only the user name.

If you are an E-mail reader - please, until this gets changed - and are quoting a posting (I happen to think that is a good idea), wipe the @ddress from the header of the quoted message.

Later today I will be changing my stored @ddress to my never-read account. (You should have one of these.)

Matt
