In the boating world, you would use 5200 where you NEVER want to take the two pieces apart as 5200 is an adhesive. 4200 is used as a sealant where you might need to remove something like the outside 'fridge door. I have not used "3M heavy drip check sealer" in my line of work (Home and Boat restoration).

Based on recommendations a few months ago, I used 3M 5200 to seal the
roof seams. No evidence of leaks, but it hasn't been that long. What's
opinion of the 5200 vs. drip check?

Well guys,

3M-5200 used to be considered permanent, but then came DeBond.
This stuff remove anything but a tax lien.

Yes Matt, 5200 is classified as an adhesive/sealant, and is a ruddy bugger
to remove. Jay wasn't asking me if you could get it off, only if it stopped
leaks. Thanks for the additional information.

Yes but at the cost of DeBond, how much do you want to remove?
