Mystery solved, the piece that Mondello sent is the pressed steel "snake like deal" OEM oil control rail that bolts into the V of the block at the very bottom. I have one of those installed so I called and they will trade it for the VT-581 Valley tray. Question I forgot to ask is if you use both the Valley tray on top of the oil control deal?

Thanks

Gary,

One or the other -- but not both. Some folks have speculated that in colder climates the OEM might provide a little more heat to the bottom of the manifold which, if the crossover is blocked, would be a good thing for cold start up.

I used the VT 581.

If at all posable use the VT-581 Valley tray. It is designed to hold
the lifters in place if you should have one of the rockers let go. If
the lifter pops out there will be a drastic drop in oil pressure. Yes
it can happen. I speak from experience.........Terry

Gary,
You can put anything in there that you want, it it all fits. One or the
other is preferable. The narrow one is OEM. You really don't need either.
