This is a common configuration for high-amperage contactors that would work
fine in this situation. Yandina sold off some surplus 200-amp contactors a
few years ago, and I managed to snag one of them for really cheap. It has a
much higher continuous current rating than a typical solenoid, and it also
had the required 100% duty cycle. Here's a picture of mine:

Any solenoid relay switch or contactor will work. It needs a 12-volt control
circuit (case ground is acceptable), a current rating sufficient for engine
starting (the crank rating of the battery for a few seconds), and a 100%
duty cycle rating. Most starter solenoids are fine except they have a 25%
duty cycle rating and their coils will overheat if left energized.
