The shown air pump is SLIGHTLY lighter built than the pumps in my '78 with Electro-Level II system. (The ELII has TWO pumps... one for each airbag and NO air tank.) The Power Level in my '73 pump is "larger" than the ELII pumps. The shown pump and the ELII pumps have an internal vent (or "lower") valve that simplifies their use in suspension systems.
I have two of the same pumps as your picture. The plan WAS to replace my Power Level system with some thing LIKE the ELII. For the same project, I picked up the height sensors from the same donor cars but I used these sensors to repair my ELII system on my '78.

Mike,
Thank you for the information and the link to the Mumert site. I had not seen the photo of the twin air compressors before.
I did find (remember) the Junk Yard Gems on the western states site
http://gmcws.org/Tech/junkyardgems/index.htm
it shows the Seville pump as a direct replacement (without alteration) for the GMC later level system.
My Dana works fine -- so maybe I will look for some other use for this pump.

Sounds like you are good. I pulled two pumps off mine. One is the factory pump working good and a spare kit.
Why did you have to post that poor old vdub sitting there anyway?

Thank you, yes, my Dana pump is good. If it does slow down I may consider the Zenith or similar.
As for the VW beetle, I was surprised to see one in the yard with the engine/transmission in place. Even the old rear bumper was still in place. Just photo recording some of the variety available in the yard. Amazing number of Volvo's -- but all I could remember that might work from a Volvo was the Sanden air compressor. I did linger over the Seville and wonder about the TBI and the distributor.
Trying to hone my "picking skills".

Dennis,
If you decide to go with the Air-Zenith pump check eBay there's a company
(Hornblasters) selling them for $349.00 Buy-it-Now or Make an Offer.
You will note that the pump comes with an 80 amp relay and the warranty is
voided if you disconnect the relay from pump. I checked and was advised the
wire from the pump to the relay is 27 inches long. They also do not
recommend installing it "out in the weather" or words to that effect. Since
your '23 has the Powerlevel system you will have to try and find somewhere
to put it where the noise won't drive you nuts. I ran the remote air filter
for the Viair 480C inside the coach up behind the dash and started it up. I
could tell in five seconds that wasn't going to work! I wound up putting the
filter in the upper right had corner of compartment behind the drivers side
hood.
And here I thought you were posting the VW in case I needed any parts for
the one I'm restoring as a towd in Houston! ;-)

Rob,
As my existing pump works fine -- I have no plans to pursue any other option. Somedays I am tempted to consider Nathan's chimes for my daily driver -- folks just seem to get more and more rude.
I tried to get Tom E interested in restoring the VW as a towd -- but he failed to see the potential. Any parts you think you might want? Let me know.

Dennis,
Some of those compressors (I've long since forgotten which ones) can
easily be modified for use as vacuum pumps. I ran one for a long time
as my brake backup. Since its not plumbed for in-line use, I
connected it directly to the vacuum accumulator.
