Here is a little New Year Diagnostic Quiz... The hints are below.

After installing my new aluminum intake manifold, I checked the water, checked for leaks. Test drove. Ran like a champ. I started for the Rose Parade... 260 miles.

Dumb thing one: I didn't double and tripple check everything under the hatch. (Maybe I need a Dick Paterson bread wrapper tie board to use as a check list.)

Dumb thing two: I have a throttle body with an EBL. I noticed I was getting 9 mpg on level ground. That was down one to two mpg.

Dumb thing three: I have two exhaust temperature gauges and one side of the engine was running as usual at 1100 degrees. The other side was running at 850.

Dumb thing four: I assumed it had something to do with the new intake manifold or my EBL. I assumed the temperature difference was because I had tweaked the gauge wiring while under the hatch.

Last hint: The problem was really simple. Simple simple simple.

I will try to follow the thread and see how the smart guys do.
