Hi, Does anyone know a source for the little breather cannister that goes on top of the left side rocker cover?. The tube from it goes into the air cleaner. I can't seem to find it in the GMCMI Parts Interchange index. Mine has a little foam filter inside it that looks pretty clogged up.

Thanks

I bought mine at Advance Auto, because it was metal -- Autozone had it in plastic. Ask for a an oil breather for a 73 Olds Toronado

$3.89

Part No. B23128

But, it IS in the GMCMI Parts Interchange Index! It is listed under the Engine Group as an Oil Breather Cap.

It is listed under Oil Breather Cap

Napa 703-1372 and also Stant 31077.

Napa has it as a Belkamp BK 703-1372

By copy of this email I will ask Billy Massey to add a third one, the Purolator B23128, to the listing.

He might also want to change the description to Filter Assy - Ventilation, Crankcase as it is listed in the GMC Parts Book 78Z..

I will also ask him to list the original GM part numbers as shown in the 78Z parts book on the diagram 8.006 on page 8-8.

These are

403192 for Filter Assy - Ventilation, Crankcase (prior to 1978)

and 557240 for Filter Assy - Ventilation, Crankcase (1978)

Emery,

If anyone is looking for the little rubber elbow that fits on top of the breather filter, Bob Burkitt has told me that it can be found on the Help! blister pack cards found in many auto parts stores. It is a Dorman #47034.
