I tried the most basic fix for my noisy lifter. I added a bottle of rislone concentrate. They make 2 rislones one for use as a replacement of a qt of oil during oil change, one that you dump in anytime.
I used the anytime one since my oil was last changed about 300 miles ago. I ran it for about 1 hr after adding it.
This am while it was cold, I started it up and no lifter noise at all.
I'm going to drain the oil, and use the 15/40 rotella and a good filter. I want to buy the magnet plug from jimk before I do. I may still add a little marvel mystery oil since Ive read and heard great things about it, but so far so good. Day #1 without tap, tap, tap, tap!
