I grew up in St. Charles, IL, in the Fox River Valley, about 40 miles straight west of Chicago. St. Charles is one of the Tri-Cities, the others being Geneva and Batavia. Batavia is/was home to Furnas Electric, maker of electrical and motor controls. One of the kids I graduated with from high school in 1958, Jerry, went to work for Furnas after graduation.

Pat and I go back to "home" every couple of months and have breakfast with about 20 of my classmates and their wives. Jerry, and his wife are usually there. At the breakfast last month, we got to talking about the GMC's and he said he thought he had some old Furnas literature he would look for and send to us. The link below is to the pictures I scanned from what he sent. I have already sent Steve Southworth, in Wisconsin, these pictures, as he owns one of the two GMC's that Furnas owned. A neat bit of history, don't you think?
