This may not be relevant, since your engine has so few miles on it, but I had the same problem with a 455 in an Olds wagon many years ago. I was a teenager & didn't know much, but I figured I'd need to tear down the engine to fix it. It would quiet down, but the tapping never quite went away. I asked a neighbor to have a look. He asked me when was the last time I changed the oil & I told him that I had about 1500 miles on the oil in it. He got a can of Marvel Mystery Oil from his garage & poured it into the oil. He told me to run it a day or 2 & change the oil & filter. The oil in it was still fairly clean, but I said OK. 2 days later when I drained the oil, it was BLACK! The tapping had stopped by the time I had changed the oil. Apparently the oil passages to the lifters was restricted & the Marvel dissolved the varnish & restored oil pressure to the lifters.
I'm not saying that Marvel Mystery Oil will solve your problem, but at this point it's not gonna hurt much. If the only thing it does is clean the oil passages, it's still a good thing...
By the way, at the time, I was using Ford Diesel tractor oil in it. My dad bought it in 55 gallon drums for the farm equipment, so it was near to hand. It's about as severe duty as oil got in those days & we ran it in everything with good results.
