Howdy,
New to the forum.
I'm interested in acquiring one of these jewels. It will probably be a basket case/non-runner. Would anyone know the weights of the two models for trailering purposes?
Thanks

Mike

There's plenty out that have a pretty good head start on the work you'd want to do for alot less than it would cost you to do it.

True, but to answer the question, figure on needing a 13,000# roll back. It would be tough to find a trailer with enough wheelbase. You would not want to flat tow unless you borrow a set of decent wheels and tires.

My 26' Palm Beach weighed in at 10,480# at the local truck scale.

Thanks.

If your 26' is 10.5 rolling down the road, then a good figure minus fuel, holding tanks and fresh water tank plus personal items and tools would be in the 9200# ramge?

Equipment isn't the problem: I have access to a 35' low boy double axle, or a 40' triple axle. I would prefer to use the low boy, but don't want to over load the tires. The triple axle is too high; the deck sits at 37".

Other than about 1/2 full of fuel, it was empty. Michigan license plate fees for it go by weight and I weighed it before I bought plates for it the first time after I bought it in July 09.

Mike,

Welcome aboard. We're always glad to have enthusiastic new owners,
especially those who want to save imperiled coaches.

You'll notice that many of us include in our automatic signature blocks, as
a minimum, our location and, when we have one, coach description. That's a
big help when we ask for information which may have a geographical impact.
That is, if you tell us where you're located, we may be able to help you
find coaches nearby.

Thanks again.

Better revise my figure up to about 10.2 or 10.3.

Guess I'll have to use the triple axle.

Now, can anyone verify that the true height is exactly 9' (108 inches)? If that is correct, then I won't be over height for most major US highways.

Thanks for the help.
The 9' height came from the Wikipedia Page on GMC Motorhomes. It states(With reservations about the accuracy), that the 9' height includes the AC unit.
