There has been so much talk of folks selling their GMCs'.
I thought I would give, my take on this, again.

If you sell your GMC there is a good chance you will lose $20,000 to $30,000
dollars.
I bought my 1973 GMC for $1000, last year.

But, you can keep and operate your GMC for free (almost ;>)

-- just read this for a few simple guidelines.

did not say you might want to make improvements,

it is just, you might not have to if you do not want to spend the money;>)

As an ex-farm boy I'm very mechanically inclined and try to do as much work on "The Murray" that I can.

However I have no place to really do any serious work, especially in the 5 winter months. My driveway has enough of an incline to make any kind of wheels off work unsafe. Through my business I know alot of places that would be nice to work in, but they don't want the liability and of course their insurance forbids it.

I'd like to build a nice shop at home for $50-100K, but there is no place on my 1 acre lot to put it, plus I could not get it past the house anyway.

I guess we could look at moving to another place with a shop etc...
likely cost $150-250K more. I was hoping not to have another mortgage in this life time!

Wait a sec... Suddenly the Murray is really costing some serious $$

Actually the Murray's winter home is in a nice clean heated commercial building. The owner has his 40' pusher and 34' up front diesel in there, plus his wife's class C (she can't drive the diesel's). Plus some other toys of his and his kids.

I'm also storing some microwave dishes in there for a job I'm doing.

I'd love to be able to do some work on it in there, but he's reluctant to let me for insurance reasons.

He's got the place for sale for a mere $600k plus 30K/year in taxes plus heat , insurance... etc. I think I could get 20 plus GMC's in there.. haha..

Something like this:

<http://portland.craigslist.org/clc/prk/2081400497.html>

Two, maybe three, coaches would fit.

If shared by two GMC'ers it would be $225 a month. ($150 each if three coaches fit.)

Wrong side of Portland for me... Also can't afford to spend much more $$$ for GMC's this year. Crying or Very Sad As my coaches are under "temporary carport" covers, it isn't THAT much of an issue.

Another idea.... There are empty warehouses in most cities.
