I recently purchased a 26' 1976 GMC Eleganza and found that the local RV center would work on it very cheaply in order to train their younger workers. Also the owner used to have one and remembered it fondly. I have had other class A motorhomes and rented a couple of class B units. The GMC is the only one my wife would drive and I love how it handles. The others had more room but I did not enjoy them as much. I cannot do much of the work myself but find little difference in the amount of work required as all rv's are a combination of house and car and do require upkeep. Hope this helps! Roger

I know I love the GMC, and really do appreciate the messages. I guess at the end of the day maybe some can understand I've poured tons of time and money into this machine. Tons of people tell me I'm crazy for doing so. I think joining a GMC club will be helpful as I still have lots of questions and this is my first rv.
I just wish a local mechanic could be had that was honest. My money is easier to find then my time. I don't mind at all learning about repairs and have found it to be somewhat fun. But I have such little time to learn how to do everything it needs.
