It was more than cold in Victoria in the early-morning hours of Wednesday, it was as cold as it's ever been on Nov. 24.

As the city slept, temperatures dipped to an all-time Nov. 24 low of -10.5 C, outdoing the previous record of -7.8 set in 1985. Most years, the minimum temperature for the day hovers around 2 C.

In addition to the cold temperatures, Environment Canada has posted a snowfall warning for Greater Victoria, east Vancouver Island and the southern Gulf Islands, calling for five to 10 centimetres of snowfall overnight and changing to rain tomorrow.
