We received the new Guskie windshield wrap, that we ordered a week or so ago. on Friday. The instructions say to install the snap bases with 1/8" pop rivets. Is that the best way to do it, or can I use screws instead? Also. some of the people I have talked to have used less than the seven snaps supplied. Which snaps have people used? Obviously the four at the backs of the A-frame windows, but it looks like the wipers will hold the front without the snaps. Any advice would be appreciated.

Install it as the instruction say! Ken Guskie installed mine in about
15 minutes 9 years ago using pop rivets, Just take a little bit of
clear silicone and put in the center of the male snap as a little bit
of extra insurance.. You will find that all seven snaps help keep the
cover on the windshield without sagging. Really a good investment and
keep the suns heat out of the coach.

You don't need the top center snap. The curvature of the coach keeps the
wrap in place just fine.

Carl,
The wipers do a great job of holding the wrap. That is all I used for
years, plus R & L upper and lower cockpit side window snaps.

Thanks to all. As usual, the replies are all over the map. I'll get it figured out. I want ot to fit well, but I don't really want to put too many holes in my body! Billy, Mine doesn't have a top center snap.

There is no Top Center Snap on the Guskie window wrap. Snaps are only
along the bottom, except for the two top snaps at either end.

I used 8-32 stainless steel screws in rubber well nuts. I had to grind the
screw heads down a bit to get them to fit down in the snaps, but I wanted an
approach designed for sealing and also something that could be removed.
Also, I didn't have any 1/8" stainless rivets on hand, and I couldn't find
the 1/8" rivet nose for my riveter, heh.

Rick,
Be careful using the rubber well nuts as sometimes they will not seal
correctly due to the spray on insulation. Insert something in an L
shape to clear out the insulation so the rubber can seal against the
skin properly. Don't ask how I know. <G>

If there's any spray-on insulation in the nose of my coach, I've not found
any evidence of it, heh.
