The Costco item number is 479696. $180 after instore rebate.
I walked in and bought mine locally. Think I have
seen them in the store for maybe 8/10 months.
I do not see it at www.Costco.com however.
Anyone else have a look at one of these
or something like it?

I have had net cam's at my home for several years now. When in Arizona for the winter, I look out my window at the weather (or snow) at home and also inside at a digital thermometer to be sure the heat is working properly. I currently have two cameras, a Dlink and an Airlink. I use a Satellite net service (Wild Blue) at home which is somewhat slow and an Apple computer running Safari or Firefox browsers. I use a Verizon Air Card for net access here in Phoenix.
Some things I have learned:
1.These net cameras are fussy and power failure can make them quit. With no one there to re boot them, you are left hanging. I wound up with developing some special electrics to automatically re-boot things in a special sequence after power is restored.
2.If you are running a Mac and Safari, or Firefox, some cameras will not work in real time, or at all. The systems are primarily developed for Windows.
3.It is hard to set these things up, from what I have seen, none are truly "plug and play". They claim to be easy, but that has not been my experience at all. You may have to use a dyn-dns service to have them work with dynamic IP addresses. This is free, but can be annoying and fussy unless you do computer work every day.
So....
I was excited about the Mole system (Costco availability) due to the problems listed above. I got one late last summer. Bottom line, It never did work properly, I finally returned it. One friend was finally able to access it from his home, but found the response time was very very slow. He uses a windows 7 system. Another friend with an Apple was unable to access it at all. When I was traveling, I could not get access either, using my Apple.
I found the installation instructions confusing at very best, and it appeared that there was some additional costs involved to use the work around they have developed to the dynamic IP address issues. Although it says it will work with Apple systems, I did not find that to be true.
I hope others have had better luck with it than I did, but my experiences were anything but positive. I went back to my old system. I do want, and will pay for, a truly Plug and Play system, but don't think the Mole is the one.
So, that is what I have to offer. A Costco return for me.

Yea, good thing he is not a TSA inspector, he might not have to do a Pat Down, he could see it all. I now cover the cam up when at home....LOL.
