I'll second that. I read his article and found no technical errors. For a while I thought it was Dan writing the article under a different (ghost writer) name.
You should have come over to Blaine's today. Blaine and Dean did lower A-Frame bushings while Diane and I did floor scrubber in the Florida room. We even got the tire burn out marks off of the white floor.
It was a long day and I'm beat. I'm back home now.

Dan Gregg,
Do you have a link to your internet/cell set-up?
Regarding the equipment, if you were starting over (and not too
concerned about price) what would you get, which models, etc. ?
Thanks

bukzin wrote on Sat, 20 November 2010 21:23 | This is an excellent article regarding cell amps/antenna
as well as internet signals.

Thanks to Jack Mayer for the write up.
Anyone have others along these lines?

An excellent article. Covers most all of the information that Dan Gregg and I have worked out over the past few years about cell phones and air card reception. Dan finds one thing, I find another, and we both can confirm everything that is said in the article.
We both run Verizon Air Cards, Cradlepoint routers, Wilson or other amps, and Wilson antennas. As Dan says "life is good".

Rob is correct. He is one great guy to have as a friend. He shares all of his knowlege with me, Rob that is. Jack shares his also and has checked everything that is available.
If I were starting over I would have saved a lot of money on wifi equipment, 2 amps, lots of LM400 coax, antennas, countless high power cards, etc.etc. Buy the usb Alfa for wifi and be done.
For our use the Verizon air card and wireless router is perfect. I have two cell phone amps, one for car and one for the GMC. Got a Wilson Trucker on the roof of GMC and a small mag mount on the Vibe. We have internet everywhere we go, except Rob's in Idaho. 60 bux a month, I hate it but I guess not enough to be without internet. We have two netbooks so we just throw one in and go. Teri shops, I surf the internet.
Dan
PS
I always buy cell phones that have external antenna jacks. That must also be the case when buying an air card.

Yea, poor Dan, when he and Teri visit me he has to use my Wifi from the Satellite system I have at the house. There are no cell towers that cover my area at all, so it is not the equipment we have that is the problem. I would dump the satellite system in a minute if there was Cell net reception.
