Help,,,,my thingy broke. To and from DQ my dash air worked fine but I couln,t get it to change from the AC vents. Was worried because of the new comp, serp belt,,,etc. So on the cool morning we headed home we only needed a little heat and then I shut it off. Found the whole "multi' conector was off the back of the control head. Still leaked after hooking it up though. So I removed it and pulled it apart on the bench. The tiny clip that holds the spring, rubber, bacing plate together broke. Any where besides the mens mall????,,,thanks,,,PL

Are you talking about the vacuum control wafer on the dash HVAC control?

If so, it is exclusive to the GMC motorhome. You would have to get one from a salvage GMC, not the men's mall.

Rob, no,, I've got all the parts but its the "keeper' thats broke. Tried a small screw, double nutted but that does't work. won"t clear the sliding arm. Looks like a little fork with a flat head. White plastic. the keeper notches on the end broke off. Still don't know how it came unpluged though.,,,,PL

Gene said "The pin is available". I couldn't find the pin or keeper that keeps the wafer/vacuum module together and so used nylon screw, washer and nut. Has worked ok.

Gene, where is this pin available?

I was under the impression that the control pieces are used on other vehicles of the vintage, but the wafer is absolutely unique, because of our many doors and flaps.

Called Alex. They have the part. An 8-32 fits thru the hole well. grabbed a nylock and a plastik nut at the lumber yard on the way home. Had to grind down the head and file a new notch. Seals well except on defrost on the bench. Will install tomorrow. Thanks to all,,,,PL
