To try to streamline the look of my coach, I would like to remove the ladder and roof railings. What is the best way to seal the attachment holes? I imagine the easiest it to simply put in sheet metal screws with some type of sealer (or o rings?), but I would like to know if a filler of some sort would work, and certainly look better when it's time to repaint the coach. I saw a commercial for alum-alloy, but don't know if that's a good idea (or would the heat simply catch the underlying insulation on fire?).
Thanks for any advice.

I used pop rivets to fill the holes and then epoxy filler to cover and seal. Painted to match, presto, all gone. Our Coach has no ladder or pod.

DON'T put a flame near the urethane foam insulation. It will almost
certainly burn intensely.
I just sealed the holes in my roof with the infamous PL polyurethane caulk.
Just squirted it into the holes and left a little mound surrounding the
areas. Not pretty, but no one's been up there except me since the paint job
in 2002 -- and that only a few times.
Unlike the seams I sealed with the same stuff, there's no sign of cracking,
peeling, separation, nor any other damage at those spots.
