I, for one, don't post on here too often - But I sure have learned a lot from these pages.....Some really great information was/is passed on by some knowledgeable people!

I can't seem to figure out why all the concern with 'resale value' or as it has been phrased "price trends" - It seems to me that anyone getting 'involved' with a GMC coach is doing so for the 'love' of the coach (so to speak) and not for it's anticipated increase in value or as an investment.

The GMC, with its unique not 'box type' style, ride qualities, handling, size, etc., are usually among the reasons that a person gets on the "GMC bandwagon"...Or at least, I think so anyway.

That's not to mention the unique technical & parts support available from areas like this "list", the Jim's on both coasts, Cinnabar, etc..

Granted, things can and do go wrong with a 30+ year old coach...BUT did you every buy a 30+ year old house (or anything else that old) and nothing ever went wrong with it.

Anyway, please excuse this ramble. Just had to 'vent' and seeing as my wife won't listen to my venting...........

Steve,

To quote our USAussie, I think you are spot on. I bought my coach almost a
year ago from a GMCer. Ok, so I have know him for several years it is still
a coach that has not been on the road for quite some time. Anyone getting
into a GMC surely must have done some research before jumping into the frey.
I had a bunch of collector cars over the years, every time I bought one -
regardless of condition, I always thought i got a good deal or I would not
have made the purchase. Turns out that every car I bought, I keep log
enough for it to have gone up in value. I was not a flipper in old cars. I
don't think I sold any car in less the 8-10 years with one exception - and
that car was bought 100% disassembled - owned it for six months, completed
it and sold it at a nice profit. GMCs are a different animal. I bought
mine knowing that it needed work, but at some point it would be a WIP (work
in progress), that satisfies the need to spin wrenches, fire up torches and
do a little plumbing, electrical and home improvement all at the same time.
So far it has lived up to my expectations.

I am hoping to get it road worthy for the spring. Let's see what happens.

*Happy Motoring!*
