first open the awning and prop up the awning tube on a ladder. and unhook the long arm at the bottom rear while holding it as it is spring loaded. slide the lower end off and carefully unwind the spring.

now remove the front arms and with a ladder at each end and a helper you can slide the whole assembly out of the groove at the roof line. you first have to open the groove at the end where it has been pinched or remove the little screw that stops it from sliding.

i did this with the awning still open and had 2 helpers holding the tube while i slid the canvas out of the groove, you can slid it out of the folding cover or slide the whole thing out of the roof groove.

if the roof groove is loose and has loose screws you will want to remove it and clean it up and reattach it with new sealer.

One of the advantages of a web-based forum is you can have multiple related forums.

But the awning has been sold.

I am noticing some wear in my awning at the awning attachment, but the rest of the awning is in great shape. Has anyone removed the awning and cut out the bad part and reattached the awning? I would think an awning manufacturer could reinforce the part where you cut it so it could be reattached.
