Someone used silicon to fill the holes in the multitude of pop-rivets on the top my GMC. The silicon is peeling off and leaving holes unfilled. Would this adhesive be a good material to re-fill the pop rivet holes or is there a better material?

Jack, there are a number of better sealants than silicone. The trick is to
get all the previously applied material off before using anything. Red
scotchbrite pads soaked with mineral spirits or 3M adhesive remover will
work. Use hand protection when using the 3M stuff. When everything is
squeaky clean, then apply a product like 3M Heavy drip check sealer. It
works well and can be painted over. It remains somewhat flexible over time &
has worked for me many times over the years. Do not use anything that is
called adhesive to seal leaks nor any hardening material.
There are several comparable sealers available, the name Sika-Flex is one I
have also used. Generally speaking look for the words self leveling non
hardening paintable sealer in the product of your choice. Auto parts and
Automotive finishing & body shop suppliers are suppliers, and sika flex has
a web site as well.

Thanks for the info. I've used Sika products on my boat w/ good results. But first, I've got to replace the failed CV Boot -- then this project.

Jb weld will work. 3m panel bonding adhesive 8115 works as well but is easier to contour but initial set up cost is high as you need to buy the application gun/ mix nozzles/ and the $55 cartridge of adhesive. If its only one spot ur probably better of with the Jb weld. The pair of tooth paste tubes not the stick. The stick works faster but the runny stuff seems to adhere and seal better.
