Interesting design, looks pretty sleek.

http://www.monacocoach.com/modelsxml/monacoindex.aspx?model=vesta#

But holy carumba.....look at that starting price, only $199,350 !!!

I can replace a LOT of stuff and do MANY upgrades and still be at a fraction of
that cost.

Not too bad, but look at size of that tail to wag the dog!
'Twould certainly require "wheely bars/wheels" to go up
any sort of a steep driveway, etc.

Price is probably about the same to reproduce our GMCs today.
I know that the new price of a GMC back when they first came
out was at least 4-5 mes my annual salary as a USAF captain!

Ray,
Some of the later model coaches have interesting ideas -- some worth copying. Fun to look through except for the climbing up and down the entry stairs.

That front end is fugly. the profile is magnificent. The rear roofline is nicely tapered which probably eliminates the airflow disturbance and decreases drag.

I did the "reviel" of this coach at the International Engine Group Plant in Melrose Park, Il. this summer. I did notice some "borrowed" styling cues and will say that it looked fairly well put together, especially the body seams or smooth lack thereof. I would think the best thing about it is the powertrain from International. It's still a boxy unit, basicly other than the aero front and back, to the advantage of more interior space. How it rides I don't know, but I'll bet ours ride better for the passengers. When you sit in the drivers seat there is the pilar blind spot which seems to be the trademark of most new vehicles. I like our wraped glass better. I have some pics in my iphone I'll post when I get a chance. The 'bays' are a nice touch we suffer without.

The front end reflects the newer design from Navistar - the rather ugly
Lonestar in particular. If you wore an old pair of Wrangler jeans, had your
3-inch thick wallet/log book in your hip pocket attached by chain then I
suppose you'd like the looks. Personally, I think it show lack of success in
trying to do a retro design.

I like the fact that it looks "Different". But this thing is ugly. They named it after an asteroid. Unique Facia and roofline does not make it revolutionary, but the fact that it is expected to weigh 26,000 lbs and get up to 18mpg is great! Monaco/Navistar are planning future models... I wonder if there is a "short bus" in the plans.

Monaco is putting some advertising dollars into cyber space. I've seen ads on a few websites lately - though it could be some of Google's advanced marketing technology where they target folks who have searched for motorhome stuff.

Still - the Vesta looks like the Bookmobile.
