Can't find them? I find that hard to believe unless they are trying to look up "GMC Motorhome" or "Edgemont" in their database. Are they looking for 1973-77 Olds Toronado parts?
I am sure someone will pitch in with the latest and greatest upgrade pads, too.
Of course, anything worth doing is worth overdoing:

Oh, and PS, unless you know the calipers have been replaced, oh, say, when the existing pads were installed, you should consider going with loaded calipers. $22.79 on closeout at rockauto,
http://www.rockauto.com for the Olds.

Ray,
What the parts place was saying is that he cannot finger it out.
Then tell him you want 153 Pads, it is a generic part #.
If not tell him one for a 76 Olds. Toronado.
If you want great stoping power, you can try our Yellow Pads. They are
pricy, but those that have used them on a standard system have told me
great news.

Ray,
At Autozone the part number is 0052-20 -- checking their site they do not show this as a match currently but it did a couple of weeks ago. In fact they don't show any available front pads.

Here is also a link to Chuck's photo album and his brake install/front end upgrade.

Keith,
Just curious so I checked on line -- AZ $20.99, OReily $49.99 for the performance friction pads.
AZ are on close out, and prices do vary by zip code for some parts houses.

Richard, loaded calipers are simply a new or reconditioned set of calipers
that come with the pads already installed and are sold for one price instead
of purchasing all parts separately. You still have the option of standard,
heavy duty or premium lining material. Hope this clarifies instead of
confuses.

G'day,

I just returned from the AZ here in Humble, TX and when we tried to order
them AZ's computer noted that the vendor was out of stock.

If you can find them GET 'EM as the manager told me they will disappear
shortly.

On a second topic - I asked for 8974S Timken rear wheel bearing seals and
all they had was the ones made in Taiwan with the orange OD which is NFG. I
explained the problem to the manager and once again I got the impression
"tell someone that gives a s%&t!"

Yes, as I mentioned the performance pads were being discontinued at Autozone -- but locally we have a lot of the stores ( and some inventory) since they are headquartered here. I was trying to reply to the original post by a new member and provide a part number -- ay least it could be cross referenced.

Thanks for the info on O Reilys.

I checked out the Performance Friction pads today at the local AZ stores around here and most still had them in stock. I went to the closest one and got on set for 21.50. I then found out that they have a replacement called "severe duty" for heavy vehicles and police vehicles. Also the close out ones only have a 90 day warranty vs. the old lifetime warranty. I asked what happens if I bring in a set of performance friction pads for warranty. He said they would give me a new set of the replacement "severe duty" pads.

So if you want a cheap set of Performance Friction pads then got for it. If you want to pay dpuble and get a lifetime warranty then take their new "severe duty pads" instead.

There is also another Performance Friction pad that will fit our coaches rather then the 00522. It is listed as 061420 and it is an optional pad for an 84-96 Chevy caprice (which takes an 05220 or the 061420) The difference is the 061421 has about 25% more friction material on it. I assume it was for the heavy duty wagon but this is a guess on my part. I found the 05220 pads wore out sooner as that was my previous choice the 061421 pads are on mine presently and seem to stop about the same.
