Is there a repair for fogged windshield edges? [message #102857]

Other than two chips my windshields are in good shape with the exception of fogging around the edges.

I've read a couple of suggestions to use heat in an attempt to relaminate the glass/plastic and am wondering if anyone has tried it?

What worked? Was it a heat gun or an iron?
