In the next week or so (sooner hopefully) I'm pulling the old ac off, putting new on.
Anyone want the old unit?
If so, we'll be careful with the removal.
Does not blow cold.

You can PM me.

I would take it - if you deliver it. Only about 2800 miles from you to me. Smile Just kidding !

"Does not blow cold" could mean something simple - bad thermostat or time delay relay, both easily fixed. Also could mean something serious - broken refrigerant line or dead compressor, which means you have a unit not worth fixing due to its age.

If you have room to store it you might save the shroud (upper cover) as some people need one to fix up an old unit. At Duquoin I checked out a Duo-Therm that had a locked compressor. The owner told me to keep the shroud in case someone needed one. Just a few hours later I was talking to someone who mentioned he was looking for a Duo-Therm shroud, as he had a broken one. I said "Yup, I've got one in my van - I'll drop it off tomorrow."

And so it goes at GMC rallys - one man's junk is another man's treasure.

I am Mitch's PO. The PO to me did some work on that AC unit, and I did more, including a recharge (I found a tap-a-line already on it), which made it work for a while, but it was not working well (or at all) when I sold the rig to Mitch. I would agree, the cover might be worth keeping but probably the rest of the unit is too old to be repaired.

If someone else is interested, I have an old one (top unit and shroud free for the taking. I'm 5 minutes from O'Hare Airport in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.

Also have an old Onan taken out of my 75 Palm Beach, same deal to anyone that could use it.

Hey George I'd take the Duo off your hands if you would like. It will be in about 2 weeks when this businees travel subsides.I'm very close by.

Darn it. Would you guys quit bragging about getting new ac units? I have a Coleman that works way too good to replace. It sure is noisy but works great. Someday it will stop and I will get one of those low profile jobs like the rest of you.

At least it sounds like you're enjoying your coach. I only had the pleasure of being able to cool the inside of my coach as I was working on it this summer. However, the low profile Carrier does work great!

Maybe with a little luck, I may be able to get down to the work rallye next weekend. It would be my first actual trip with the coach after two years of renewing the systems, and would be a great first test. At least, I would have some knowledgable people to help me figure out any problems.

George, go if you possibly can. You will never regret being with other GMC people. I have often found myself trying to talk "me" out of going somewhere in the coach. I have learned not to do that. If I don't go, I will always wish I had. If I do go, I know I will never regret it. Teri and I make so many great memories in the coach and being around our GMC friends. Blaine and Diane are special folks and make their guests feal very important. If you have some problems with the coach Ken Burton and Blaine can diagnose them and assist you in repairing them. At least bring you water as they stand around telling you what to do next. Take your camera and send me pictures. That weekend is a bust for us.

We will be waiting for you and expecting you.

I take I-65 to Indiana 39 (Flying J is at that exit).
Then Ind 39 south to Danville.
Then West on US 36 to Blaine's in Putnam County.

It is a little shorter to take I-65 to Indiana 43 (in Lafayette.)
Ind 43 to US231.
Then US 231 south to US 36.
Finally East on US 36 to Blaine's.

I like the first route better but is it probably 12 or 15 miles longer. I usually stop at Flying J for cheaper non-alcohol gas.

The old one is out, new one in and pumpin' COLD!! Shocked
I've tossed the upper unit, but kept the shroud and the interior parts. I'll hang on to them until they are in the way.
So, one more chance for some parts free.

George - if you still have the Onan I'll take it. (Just gotta figure out how to get it into the back of the truck 'cause we aren't gonna lift it).
