I'm chipping away at getting my Birch back in action. Today I had the propane tank filled to see what issues lay in the propane systems. I discovered a leak at the tank valve which I'll replace. Also another leak in the line going to the regulator. I haven't made it to the furnace, refrigerator, or water heater yet.
What I did work on was the stove. I have the 4 burner stainless steel Magic Chef stove. All of the burners work good when I light them manually, the oven pilot and oven work good too. I don't have the factory owners manual and I can't figure out how to light the stove pilots. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Cliff, most RV cooktops do not have pilot lights - they have piezo ignitors (sparkers), or you use a match to light the burners.
If your cooktop does have a pilot light then you may have to adjust the gas flow to the pilot. Follow the tube from the pilot light back to the gas control valve. Close to where that tube goes into the valve should be an adjustment screw for setting the pilot. You may have to remove a screw-in cover to see the actual adjustment screw.
I noticed on Magic Chef's web site (www.magicchef.com) that you can get Owner's Manuals for their products. That might be your best bet.

Clint,
The oven control should be at "pilot off" now.
Lift the stove top and turn the oven knob all the way around to "oven off" like you must have done to light the oven pilot. Now you should be able to light the pilots both for the oven and the stove top.
With the stove top lifted (pulls up in front), try lighting one burner and see if that lights the pilot. The pilot is in the center and easy to spot. This trick worked on the stove in one RV, but does not work with our current Coleman.

Well, I guess that explains why I couldn't find the pilots or get them to light--there aren't any! I knew this was a dumb question, but it hadn't occurred to me that you were supposed to light the burners yourself, especially since the oven had a pilot light. Thank you for the responses everyone!

When we first got our GMC, on one of the first trips out, I bemoaned the
fact that the 35 year old stove didn't have a lighter of some kind so I
brought one of those long barbeque lighters with the Piezo crystal lighter
to light the burners. We have a 4 burner Magic Chef cook top with no Oven.
After I had been cooking for a while, I put my hand on the center of the
stove between the burners to wipe away a spill, and I noticed that there was
a hot spot in the metal there. I turned off the burners and lifted up the
cook top, and much to my suprise, saw a very small blue flame right in the
center with four tubes extending towards each of the burners. I then turned
on one of the burners and a moment later the flame traveled towards the
burner and ignited it. Suprise, suprise, suprise. The darn thing did have a
pilot light after all, complete with a separate shut off valve. If you have
one of these things, open it up and look under there once in a while. You
will be amazed at what you can find under that cook top.

Once again the superiority of Avion coaches is demonstrated!
The 35 year old Suburban cook top HAS a button with Piezo electric ignition!
