It is just amazing, the folks who showed up at Desmond's Fleet week.

I will get a list up later, but there were several "young folks" with
new-to-them GMCs and they are doing a great job of
getting-them-on-the-road.

what is great is that the spouses' are here with great ideas on the why and
how of GMC life.;>)
(wait till you hear about the 1 year odyssey, coming up from one young
couple with a 1 year-old (to them) GMC.

From a long ways away, are Mike Miller from Portland, Or.
Kelvin (one name like Sher) , from Eugene, Or.
the Works, from GrantsPass, Or. (well almost, Kerby,or.)
(more to come)

the "spring" air bag is here (more later)
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=33968&title=img-0625&cat=5471

or

http://goo.gl/lTQY

he also has the Hubler front end from JimK
http://www.gmcws.org/Tech/Hubler_1-Ton_Hubs_2007-09.pdf

You should see all the innovations from these young folks. Like Jerry Work
told me yesterday, It is fun to see these young faces with just-excellent
backgrounds, doing really innovative GMC restorations, and modifications.

THANKS DESMOND FOR THE RALLY
Last night was so exciting, I had to buy a one-day WIFI subscription just to
keep up

We had a great time this weekend! Desmond is either a genius of freakish proportions, or the luckiest host alive. Not only did he arrange for us - the beautiful vistas of San Francisco, but the best weather you could imagine, a Parade of Ships, an air show featuring the Blue Angels, and to top it off - Fireworks on Saturday night!

But wait, there's more! An impromptu tour of some Burning Man artwork, two chances to diagnose non-running coaches, a winery tasting bar, some folks drove into The City for German food and beer at Schroeders, and others ate at the local greasy spoon (that was really good!) We had some political intrigue and naughty rule-bending - (somebody lit a "Little Red Campfire" between the coaches that drew GMC'ers like moths!) - and we were visited by some masked thieves in the night (raccoons!)

I've uploaded some pictures from my iPhone. It will do HDR images - sometimes they are better - sometimes they aren't. The pictures start here:

<http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=36385&title=fleet-week-on-treasure&cat=8>
or
<http://goo.gl/Ocol>

If you are in the same boat I was in a week or two ago and had never heard of HDR images, as I understand it the camera takes 3 pictures almost at once. One underexposed, one normal exposure, and one overexposed. It then stitches them together to build a move vivid picture.

Desmond gets my vote for "GMC Commodore II" for putting together a fantastic mini-rally.

Thank you, Desmond!

What a wonderful GMC adventure that was! A once in a lifetime opporturnity,
I suspect.

Sure hope San Francisco exceeds my expectations and preserves some of the
treasure that is Treasure Island from the rampant commercial development I
fear.

This was a great mini-rally with 14 beautiful coaches. Area friends came in to join the event. There was also attendance from thousands of people who came onto the island and got to view the beautiful row of GMC's on the lawn. It seemed like the Blue Angels used the coaches as a marker because they really blew directly over us several times and VERY low and VERY loud.

Here is a link to a VIDEO of a Formation of ALL 6 Blue Angels Flyover directly above us from the Sunday's airshow. Turn on speakers for full effect. Myself, Gary and Alana and Erica were the 3 Coach owners present for Sunday's airshow.

Thanks to all for the great pics (and video), and kudos to Desmond for putting together such a great event. Wish we could have been there.

We're leaving tomorrow evening for an eleven day, 1600 mile trip to Salt Lake City, then on to the GMCWS Rally in Las Vegas!!!

Roger,
Only you can think of that trick.
You being a Helacapeter pilot flying the Cobra can think of that.

Great to meet you all and put a few forum names to faces! Such a friendly crowd, and couldn't pick a better spot for a meet-up.

I was so sorry to have to duck out on Saturday afternoon. Sounds like I missed quite the airshow.
My flight took an unusual path to go around the fleet week airspace and I could actually see the row of coaches from my window seat on the plane!

Erica had a great time and was back on Sunday without me, watching the airshow and talking GMC's.

Can't wait for next year...

really enjoyed watching your lovely family ( two teenage testers) on top of
the coach , watching the show. they were in almost every photo of the show.

The rally had some very interesting owners and families. I will post some
more coach pictures soon. I am trying to get caught up just now ;>)

Mine needs a few little things before being roadworthy.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/cjonesgo/4252526231/in/set-72157619270100056/
and this is before I really started taking things apart!

It actually runs great, but needs new tires before I'd consider driving it around. I am working on the interior so, holding off on tires until the coach is usable. Otherwise they'd just age out sitting in the storage yard.

On the short term To-Do list is leak sealing! Trying to get it buttoned up before it gets wet here in the bay. Restoring windows and replacing rubber is what I am looking at first. Once I can keep it dry inside, I'll start putting the interior back together.

This past weekend was energizing! So great to see so many nice coaches on the road!

It was nice to meet you and Erica! The coach is "luky2GO" haha. Thanks for sharing the photos! Let us know of your work days and we can come down to lend a hand. (We are only 5 miles from your coach)

Looks like you have about a month before the rain sets in...today- 95 and sunny... does the Gen and A/C work?
