I bought in August of 2008, blown head gasket, rebuilt summer of 2009 while I was laid off, no travel allowed by the wife.
2010, exhaust, front wheel bearings, brakes, CV joints, gas tanks ( after a line crumbled in my hand )
The good;
I took it on the freeway and down the St Croix river valley via MN Hwy 95. Beautiful fall colors. the GMC picture window / windshield sure is great!
I put about 100 miles on her, freeway, in town, local highways and some nice windy hilly roads. The coach handled great, no tram-lining that I could feel, handled cross winds without a care.
The bad(?)
*A little porpoising over big dips, but not too bad.
*I'd like more front roll stiffness, but I like a lot of front roll stiffness...
*It needs a shit kit, Man this thing shifts softer than my minivan and way too soon. Into 3rd gar at 25mph? Um thats gotta change.
*Crossing a non perpendicular railroad track, is an interesting event, the rear end kinda just does what it wants!
*the brakes need to be bled better and the steering CV joint is the suck, all my fault.
* no heat from the heater, Oh yea, I had a zip tie holding the valve off, I guess THAT works, oops.
All I can say is Ahhhhhhh! It felt good
