have repaired most of the melted/burnt/etc wiring but am now wondering how to re-hookup the tach. What would it hook up to for the signal?
Has two wires from steering column mount that go behind dash. Want to find the other end for the signal, should be near where the dist is?

I have the ‘original’ distributor, however I looked at the connections on the drivers side and there were 2 wires going in, one side marked ‘tach’. Both were plugged in and I saw the tach wire but it didn’t work. BUT, my military upbringing said, ‘check’em dummy’. The side of the plug where the tach wire went in was broken out, so the connector could be pushed out since nothing was holding it in. So, push it back in and reconnect… duh!!! Works.
Thankx to Bob Burkett
