Sorry, I should have said - I already have one GMC, a 1976 Royale, but I am considering getting a second (everyone should own 2), a Birchaven which will have to be transported. I can handle the work that needs to be done on the Birchaven if I can get it home - about 1200 miles. Does anyone have information about transporting a GMC? Thank you.

Michael Bozardt has a transporter which he recommends -- of course it depends on where it is and where it is going -- but Michael may be enroute to DuQuoin.
Anyone have Michael's cell phone number?

He has now moved eight gmcs for me without incident and reasonably priced. He uses a Dodge dually and 50 foot goose neck trailer. He bought 14 ft aluminum ramps specifically to handle gmcs. He is your mover!....Michael GEMRECS

WAY BACK MANY YEARS AGO I laughed at the 18 wheelers going up the
mountains on the shoulder lanes ~ We were in the '73 and it was 105
degrees in mid August when I was blowing their doors off on the Interstate.
I had the cruise control set on 65 mph going up Mount Eagle, never
looking at the dash gauges and laughing as I was passing every Truck.
Just as soon as I passed the 1st exit on the mountain top my OVER HEATED
GMC Did Not Blow A Radiator Hose, It Blowed OFF The Entire Top Of The
Radiator ~ Every Truck Driver That We Passed Going Up The Mountain Was
Real Courteous As They Passed, Blowing Their Air Horns And Waving At Us
While We Were Sitting, On The Shoulder Of That Interstate.
In Our Steaming Disabled 26' GMC Motorhome `~
I called one of our Neighbors who had a Son by the name of M Stooksberry
who lived in Collinwood Tennessee. After Mr Stooksberry finished Baleing
and Unloading his hay, He and his wife drove 300 miles in his
BIG
1 Ton V/8 Powered 4BBL Dodge Dually, Pulling a 30' Goose Necked Dove
Tailed 5th Wheel Trailer ~
We disconected the Towd, put the GMC 26'er loaded up on that trailer,
Deflated the Air Suspension, Strapped her down and Got Her Home ~
We unloaded her and then started the job of replacing the Radiator,
Thermostat, Water Pump,The Cracked Heads, Freeze Plugs, Water Hoses,
Heater Hoses, Belts, Spark Plugs, Plug Wires, Fuel Lines
and a few other THANGS That Had Been RUINED --> due To My Stupidity ~
We simply used Mr Stooksberry
and his V/8 1 Ton Dodge Dually
To Pull A Goose Necked,
Low Profile,
Dove Tailed,
Tri axel,
5th Wheel Trailer
Just To Get Er Home !
