Could be worse: we recently were camping near a guy who let his FOUR dogs run loose
and poop everywhere. They'd charge us aggressively every time we walked by with our dog,
and even came into OUR campsite repeatedly to menace us. There was no way to avoid them.
I don't normally yell at strangers, but had to. The rangers didn't do a thing.
It really put a damper on the experience.
Usually, we love dogs and are delighted to see them. Just keep them under control.

That is unacceptable. The owners are supposed to contain their dogs, generally a leash is absolutely minimum requirement to allow the pets in the campground.
If the campground attendants could care less, then they don't care about their guests, and I would not return.
It is also unacceptable to not pick up after the droppings. If they are your pet, you are responsible to man up and take care of business and respect the other campers.
I have 3 Greyhounds, SEVEN, BLAZER and RUBY, all sweet and love attention. Greyhounds have different demeanors, I have had 5 Greyhounds, INCLUDING GATSBY and ROJO, all total, I have never had one that was not calm, friendly and did not like people and want to be petted, one of them was a "leaner" and I think my newest addition, RUBY, is as well.
All of them catch other campers eye and usually come running to ask questions and pet them. They always bring smiles to the children and adults alike.
I travel with three Greys now, they are my family and pretty much all I have these days. If they are not welcome, then neither am I. I can go back to DISNEY which is very dog tolerant.
I enjoyed one comment I heard from a Disney Cast Member....
One Guest's dog had gotten away and was running loose in the park. I told them to tell the Disney office. DISNEY had Cast members out looking and by evening the doggie was back home in the owners hands. The Cast member said "We have never been unable to return a pet to a guest"...
