Several years ago, I saw an image of a GMC Motorhome and fell in love with its great looks. Now, I've decided to buy an rv and think that a GMC might be a good choice for me but have never seen one "in the flesh".
Are there any owners within a 100 or so miles of the St. Croix Valley area of MN/WI that would be willing to let me take a look at theirs and answer some questions?
I've seen several different models listed but have been unable to discover what differentiates one from another. Are the different models based on the floor plan chosen? I know that there were several floor plan options available for both the 23' and 26' models.
Any information that anyone can provide me will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Chad

Chad,
For the first two years, models basically where the colors/patterns of the interior furnishings and the color choices of the exterior. Starting with the Eleganza S.E. in 1974, and other models in 1975, model MAY indicate some furnishings and SOME layouts. This is especially true of the "transmodes" (GMC's sold by GM as shells for others to install interiors) Like the Royale, Birchaven, Avion and others. Keep in mind it has been a long time and many owners have changed their coaches from original.
You should bookmark this link: <http://gmcmotorhome.info/>
Once there, click on: "SO YOU WANT TO BUY A GMC ?"
You'll find some information and links there.
Here are some other links... just watch out for information overload!

<http://www.gmcmhregistry.com/>

Keep in mind that currently the prices of complete coaches has gone the same as the economy (down), while prices on parts and labor have stayed (more or less...) the same.
ie: It is a good time to buy a nice coach.
Good luck
