Wish me luck. It seems to test run fine. But don't they always. HA. Last trip was early spring. It has had occassional short 20 mile breakfast runs.
Tom

BTW, I have a feeling there is a need for a GMC TRIP PRAYER LIST.

WOW ~
You are going to from Lugoff All of the way to Myrtle Beach !
Be sure to downshift when going down all of those mountains ~

Sorta reminds me of the long trip that we took in our '73 ~
We traveled all of the way from Goose Creek To Isle of Palms !
It was a good trip Down Hill All of the way to Isle of Palms
BUT That Up Hill Trip back to Goose Greek was a killer ~ LOL
we didn't leave the Isle of Palms until around midnite and
when we got to Goose Creek we had to park the GMC and unpack
the major things because I had to be on the job in Columbia
by 7:30 AM ~ Ahhhhha Memortes ~ Those were the days ~

Happy Trails
~ Joe ~

Goose Creek. Lived there back in '60-'62 while flying F-101B's at
Charleston AFB. After a 6 mo. TDY to Omaha we moved to Summerville -- now
that's REALLY uphill! :-)

Sure wish I had back the '59 Morris Minor that I ran up & down those hills;
that would be a great toad for the GMC.

Ken,

I know of a Morris Minor for sale in the Memphis area. Needs work - but
it's all there.
I can't recall the year. A buddy of mine used to race them as mini stocks
in Staten Island, NY back in the 1960's. He ran a Ford Cortina 2000 motor.

I have had a # of Morris's and i still have a 1965 Traveller (woodie wagon)
it
puts out 115 HP instead on about 40HP for stock. Any one need engine parts,
a trans, SU's etc. etc. i have a bunch on them. They are fun simple cars.

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SUNSET!!!! THE FULL MOON WAS SHINING OVER THE OCEAN/SHORE LINE WITH A BEAUTIFUL GLOW ON THE WATER. Sitting on a long pier enjoying the evening breeze. Now that is what I retired to enjoy!

GMC ran great with one little exception. After driving about 100 miles I stopped at a traffic light and was watching the tach. It suddenly dipped and the engine died. It restarted immediately. I drove to the next light and just in case it was going to happen again, I shifted to neutral. Suddenly, the tach dipped and I was quick enough to step on the accelerator enough that it didn't die. I don't think it was vapor lock.

What do you guys think?
Tom

Return trip was great! No problems with tach dips, rained all the way home. Could have been vapor lock on the trip down. However, it did not reoccur on the next 6 traffic light stops. Thanks for the support.
