Hi All,
Bryan, If the "raised section" you refer to is in the rear between the two Gaucho Beds you might want to consider removing it and checking for rot thereunder that section as well. You can then replace it (it is not structural) or leave it out. Years ago there was a discussion about what the purpose of it was. I think the conclusion was something to the effect of being able to reach the floor if the table was installed or simply as a mounting pad for the table leg bracket. There is a product called "Git Rot" a two part Epoxy sold in Marine Stores that soaks into the rot and replaces it with Epoxy.
As a side note I have heard that replacing Exhaust Manifold .Bolts with too hard a bolt (grade 8)might cause problems if they ever freeze and drilling out is required. Unless copius amounts of "never Seize" is used that could occur.
Just some thoughts.
